Hey Guys… It’s John Respondek here!

From an early age, I always enjoyed surfing and being around the ocean. Over the last 20 years I’ve combined this lifestyle with a passion for photography. I’m endlessly striving to capture unique moments in the ocean and aim to provide glimpses of the amazing lifestyle that comes with the territory.

Back when the surf industry was booming, I travelled around the world shooting surf and worked with the leading surf magazines and surf brands. During my charmed existence as a surf photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a whole bunch of professional surfers. Over the years, I have become great friends with surfers such as, Dion Agius, Taj Burrow, Craig Anderson, Chippa Wilson and pals. These days I work and travel with those guys almost exclusively. Naturally, my photo library of them is extensive, and although we’ve experienced a bunch of published success, in editorial exposure and advertising campaigns, there’s still so much imagery that deserves a chance to shine. These days I spend time working mostly on my own print projects and production of independently published books. I’ve also enjoy working on my own clothing label featuring my photographic prints.

I continue to love the art of Surf Photography, and I’m continually working to capture the high-impact, as well as the weird, wacky, and wonderful. Most importantly for me, it’s as much about the good times as it is about the job. Cheers!
